Sue Wong’s Boundlessly Beautiful Birthday Bash:

Sublime Sensual Satiation in Malibu
It happened again, another fabulous party by Sue Wong! What did you expect, dear readers, after all these years? Not only was this event a spectacular birthday party for the legendary designer but also a glorious celebration of her fashion installation at the Malibu City Hall. Indeed, it was a celebration to end all celebrations!
This all took place on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Wong’s Malibu estate, which she aptly refers to as Arthaus. Arthaus overlooks the Pacific Ocean and provided the perfectly relaxed setting for this event, with its stately palm trees, lush lawn, and manicured cactus gardens. The party had a 1920’s theme, most appropriate since Wong’s gowns pay homage to that Golden Age of Hollywood.
The international alchemist fashion designer who has created affordable fashion with couture sensibility looked elegant and composed in her Junya Watanabe deconstructed leather jacket and designer skirt. Wong had this to say about her career and work:
“I chose fashion as my line of creative work and profession and I was a designer for 47 years, starting at age 19. However, I am multi-dimensional in my creativity and excel in many other fields of creative visual art as well.”
And excel she does, in everything she tries, in such diverse fields as home design and restoration, landscaping, media presentations, creative writing, and inspirational speaking. Her quest for and achievement of excellence pervades all her pursuits.
Wong welcomed her 250 guests with a speech in which she detailed the history of Arthaus and urged all to find spiritual enrichment in its beauty. Actor and artist Leigh McCloskey, Abbot Shifu Yeanfan, and Reverend Partick McCollum also spoke and provided inspiration to the audience.
Great music was provided throughout the event, with the house rocking to the beat of Steve Cooke, Scarlet Rivera, Jawn Starr, The Big Finish (Ron Noble, Ty Johnson, and Andrew Hilary), Rick Whitfield, and DPAK, all of whom delivered stellar sets. These soulful musical performances were emceed by Prince Stash Klossowski de Rota and coordinated by Walter Marconi.
A highlight was a group rendition of Jawn Starr’s “It’s a Sue Wong World” sung to Sue Wong while she was being presented with her birthday cake.
Throughout the festivities, stunningly beautiful Sue Wong models Anna Gupta, Jazzika Dunn, Claudia Charriez, Lana, and Angela moved amidst the crown in a continuously changing array of brilliant Sue Wong designs.
The event, expertly conceived and produced by Sue Wong and Jackie Lewis Media & Events, offered first rate entertainment, verbal and visual inspiration, convivial conversation and comraderie, and exceptional food and drink. What more could one desire?
So, at evening’s end, guests departed reluctantly yet contentedly, knowing full well that every sense and sensibility had been satisfied by this night of magic.
